WINSTON-SALEM STATE UNIVERSITY NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
ALUMNI HALL OF DISTINCTION NOMINATION FORM
INTRODUCTION
The Winston-Salem State University National Alumni Association is a non-profit organization designed to promote and support the university.
The ALUMNI HALL OF DISTINCTION will highlight the contributions of alumni to the university, their professional careers, and their communities.
To this end, the specific purposes of the Alumni Hall of Distinction are as follows:
• To recognize and honor alumni who have demonstrated exceptional achievements
since graduation. Their contribution has brought positive recognition to the
National Alumni Association and Winston-Salem State University.
• To recognize and honor alumni who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in
their professional careers, and the communities locally and/or nationally.
• Their continuous support and excellence have had a significant impact on the
National Alumni Association and Winston-Salem State University.
• Persons being nominated for induction into the Alumni Hall of Distinction must
have rendered meritorious service to the National Alumni Association, its affiliated
chapters across the country, and/or the university.
• Nominees will be listed with the Nominations Committee of the Alumni Hall of
Distinction for a period not to exceed two years. Any nomination submitted in year
one and not selected may be amended and resubmitted by the deadline year two.
• If an individual has not been inducted during these two years, his/her name will be removed from the active list and can be re-nominated for future consideration.
ALUMNI CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES FOR NOMINATION
1. The nominee must be a graduate of Winston-Salem State University or any prior
known names.
2. The nominee must be a financial member of the National Alumni Association.
3. The nominee must have exhibited exemplary character and integrity through
his/her student and professional life and be held in high regard by his/her peers
and/or co-workers.
4. The nominee must have contributed to the WSSU Annual Fund for the previous 5
consecutive years, including nominating year.
5. The nominee must meet specific requirements set by the association. (see Introduction)
6. The nominee must be nominated by a current financial member of the NAA.
MERITIORIOUS SERVICE
1. Candidates must have made significant contributions to the development of the
National Alumni Association, the university, and the community.
2. Nominees must have received recognition from at least one of the following:
National Alumni Association, alumni region, alumni chapter, university, and/or the
community.
3. The nominee must have exhibited exemplary character and integrity throughout
his/her professional life and be held in high regard by his/her peers and/or coworkers.
